So incredible delayed but finally here is the podcast, such as it is. My apologies for a fairly butchered podcast. My regular microphone went out in the middle of recording so I switched to a portable mic and that ran out of batteries in the middle of that recording, so I stitched together all three and out came a show. In this podcast I answer the question, why did I move to Portland?

Fear not friends, there will be a podcast for New Guy In Town but due to a busted microphone durring the move, I am delayed. I got half of the show recorded last night and blamo. I will be able to get the photo gallery up most likely today, however, so it’s not all bad news.
I’ve been on plenty of camping trips all over and I’ve never been ravaged by mosquitoes as badly as I have been these first weeks in Portland. What gives? Is this normal? You should see my legs. I’m looking for your best mosquito remedies; prevention and treatment.
I expected many things living in Portland, but a heat wave was not one of them. We’ve only been here two weeks and the we are experiencing 93 degree weather! The house we bought, it doesn’t have air conditioning which is something I thought was great. How much will we save not having to run air conditioning all the time like in Southern California? How fast will we melt in these crazy temperatures? Are you kidding me? Please tell me this kind of thing doesn’t happen often or last long.
So I just moved to Portland, Oregon and as if I didn’t already have enough to do, I decided to begin another blog project. But this one is a little different.
This will be the first new media property to embrace a new philosophy I am developing that I call “Think Globally, Blog Locally”. It’s nothing that new really but I have put a cleaver name to it and it’s a little more than that actually. Let’s not get bogged down with that.
Portland is brand new to me and I will be discovering new things every day. I’ll be sharing my journey here. This blog and podcast will chronicle my first year in Portland as an ex-Californian. For other newcomers this might be helpful but I don’t want to make it boring for experience locals either, so I want you to be part of it all. I’m the new guy in town, show me around. Where should I eat? What are the best comic shops? My mother in-law likes antiques, ideas for her? What do I do with the kids? What do I do if the constant rain starts to freak me out?
